NILES ELITE IS 2 FOR 2 IN MADISON

On August 4th, the 4th Annual Young Champions Nationals Champions was held in Madison Wisconsin. Niles Elite sent two teams to represent them in the two most advanced divisions offered.

Everyone had a great weekend that started out with a disco party on Friday night. Our kids sported their team colored afros and grooved the night away. Coach Jami made us all proud winning the costume contest with the "Groovy Flamingo" costume. The teams then cheered her on to victory in sumo suit showdowns with coaching friends Janel and Katie. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the Michigan staff that planned that party and made it so much fun.

On Saturday, our Niles Elite Red team started the day out in true NE fashion hitting a fantastic routine. Lines were perfect, stunts were timed, and they hit everything! With so many fabulous teams in their division, nerves were high when awards were called, but they pulled of the win to re-claim the Division 5 National title for Niles Elite.

The pressure then shifted to Niles Elite Black, who was defending their National title for the fourth year in a row. They hit the most difficult routine ever put on a Young Champions floor. Most athletes threw brand new skills in this absolutely jam-packed routine. They also went home with blue ribbons and their fourth National title.

Overall, this was the most competitive Nationals that Young Champions has ever had, with 122 teams coming from 10 different states. Niles Elite was the ONLY program to take home more than one National title, and now has more titles than any other program in Young Champions with 7 total titles.

We would also like to congratulate the other Michigan teams who brought home National titles: Hesperia, Eastpointe, Rockford, Rogers City, Grand Rapids and Otsego. Way to bring it home to Michigan, ladies (and gentlemen!). It was a pleasure to share the mat with such great teams across the board.

And now, more than ever, we are PROUD TO BE...NE!!!!
